Re-sign tasks can be set up to support the re-signing of agreement documents after project changes are made. Re-sign tasks must be for the same financing product. If you are signing a new contract for another financing product, you have to sign a contract for a new quote and cancel with original quote. Here is an overview of how re-sign tasks work and how they can be set up.
How are re-signs supported? The re-sign functionality allows project documents to be sent out that reflect a change in quote & project information since the original signing of the agreement.
- Re-signs can be initiated during the ops workflow phase, when and if a new contract is needed.
- If changes are being made to the system design, a new system should be created (rather than modifying the original system). We recommend naming the new system "Re-design" or something similar. New quotes will have to be created for this system.
- The user selects a quote to use for the re-sign document.
- You can only select quotes for re-sign that are for the same financing product. If the financing product is going to be changed, you must sign a new agreement & cannot use this re-sign process.
How does the task get set up?
- Re-sign tasks can be placed into any milestone.
- The re-sign task type can also be used for other project documents that should reflect updated quote information for any changes made post-signing.
- There can be more than one re-sign task, although they must have different names. For example, you can have a re-sign task available in the first milestone and another available in the second milestone.
- Once a re-sign task is created, it will be added to new signed jobs -- it will not back-fill into previously signed jobs.
What documents get used for the re-sign? Any document can be used. The re-sign task can include one or more documents, similar to the original agreement task. The same documents can be used again for the re-sign task, or a new document can be used, for example, a special amendment document.
How can the re-sign be sent out? The re-sign can be downloaded or sent for e-sign, just like the original agreement task.
What if I'm an API user? The re-sign task is not available via API and must be initiated in the UI. To learn more about how to perform re-signs if you are an API customer, see this article.
