Proposals can now be previewed with a web link and emailed directly to homeowners from the Sighten platform!
Preview opens a new tab with a custom link to the proposal, making it easy to view and share. The link does not expire and can be sent directly to customers.
Email lets you send the link in a personalized email to your customer that can be opened on any device without downloading!
Proposal preview & email features offer the following advantages:
- Skip proposal download
- Easy-to-send customizable email
- A link the homeowner can click and view on any device without downloading
How it works
First, create a quote (instructions on how to create a quote can be found here). Then select the quotes to be included in the proposal, and the proposal template to use a template that is different than the default. An overview of Sighten's proposals and how to select a proposal template can be found here.
In the proposal section, access the Preview and Email options by clicking on the arrow next to the Download Proposal button:
Proposal Preview
Clicking preview opens a new browser tab and loads the proposal. This link can be shared directly with the homeowner. No download required!
To download the proposal from this page, you or the homeowner can click the "Download" button in the upper right corner.
Emailing a proposal
The proposal can be emailed directly to the homeowner before or after previewing. From the quote page, click the arrow next to Download Proposal and select Email.
A window will appear with the homeowner's email pre-populated, and a default subject and message. The default subject and message can be customized by any user with Admin privileges. A step-by-step guide to change the default email for Admin users can be found here.
The "Custom Note" field can be customized to include additional information in the body of the email sent to the homeowner:
After clicking "Send", a notification will appear that the email has been sent.
The homeowner will receive an email similar to the email shown below. Note that a link to the proposal is included in the body of the email. This helps prevent the email from going to spam boxes (as is common with attachments).
By clicking the "Your Solar Proposal" link, the homeowner can view the proposal from any device and download at any time.
